At Junior Pope’s funeral, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has outlawed pointless photos and videos.
He declared that only official photographers should be allowed to capture pictures and recordings at the funeral.
On a Tuesday, May 14, Instagram post, AGN president Emeka Rollas stated as much and added that the family must also accredit all journalists and bloggers.
He wrote in parts:
“Its a devastating and sorrowful period for the Actors Guild of Nigeria therefore we shall not indulge in any unnecessary picture or video recording that is not by the official photographers at the proceedings of final journey of our departed colleague. All Press/ Bloggers must be accredited by the family.
“Special thanks to Hon Peter Aniekwe Udogalanya Member representing the good people of Anambra East & West Federal Constituency, Hon Maureen Gwacham member representing the good people of Oyi & Ayamelum Federal constituency, Hon Peter Ifeanyi Uzokwe member representing the good people of Nnewi North/South & Ekwusigo Federal constituency at the House of representatives. Chief Kenneth Ifekudu [Agbalanze] and of course Lady Ada Anene [Ada Ozubulu] for all the support.”
On the evening of April 10, Junior Pope’s death was officially declared after multiple attempts at CPR had failed.
Friday, Olanti, Precious, and the production crew perished in the Anam River while returning from the set of Adanma Luke’s film Another Side of Life.
The actor was accompanied by make-up artist Abigail Frederick. The actor wed Jennifer Awele in 2014, and the two are parents to three kids together.
On Friday, May 17, the 43-year-old will be laid to rest in his rural home following a funeral service at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Ukehe.
The actor’s burial will be promptly followed by burial. On May 20, a mass of gratitude will be held at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Ukehe to conclude the funeral arrangements.
