Obianuju Catherine Udeh, better known as DJ Switch, is a well-known Nigerian disc jockey who was recently taken into custody by Lagos police.
There has been reports that the well-known DJ is currently being transported to the Eti-Osa Magistrate Court.
According to a police source who talked gave the information, DJ Switch went to the police on Monday, April 15, in Elemoro, Ajah, to file a complaint against a man who she said had deceived her.
According to the police, the male has been in custody since his detention on the day she filed the complaint.
On Wednesday, April 17, Switch was then invited to ask her exactly what she wanted—that is, whether she wanted the accused to be tried in court or freed immediately, since it is illegal to hold an accused person for longer than 48 hours.
According to the source, the accused vehemently objected to DJ Switch’s insistence that she record and publish the accused’s apologies on the internet.
Since neither party was able to come to an amicable agreement and settle, the police decided to take the matter to court in order to effect a settlement.
Things quickly took a drastic turn when DJ Switch allegedly used her car to block the station’s entry and assaulted the female officers assigned to the case just as the officers were ready to bring the accused to court.
She was arrested for assaulting police officers, resisting arrest, and impeding police while on duty as a result of her actions. After being brought before the court, the accused was placed under remand in jail.
DJ Switch, is presently on her way to the Eti-Osa Magistrate Court to appear in court on charges of assaulting and obstructing police officers while they are on duty.
