As his Senior Special Assistant on Tourism, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has chosen Basirat Damilola Marshall, daughter of Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM1.
This was said in a widely circulated video of her father thanking the governor and in the congratulations that were shared on Thursday on her Instagram account, @damimarshall_.
The now-viral video shows her father, KWAM1, performing live on stage during Oba Sikirullah Apena’s birthday celebration and coronation on Thursday, and praising Sanwo-Olu for naming his daughter to his cabinet.
The Fuji singer said that his daughter Damilola pushed him to publicly thank the governor for her appointment.
Writing to congratulate her on the appointment was Olanrewaju-Smart Wasiu, he said;
“Congratulations Barr. @damimarshall_ on your appointment as the Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism. This is a deserving recognition for your hard work and contributions to our party”, to which she responded by saying “Thank you, sir.”
Another individual, Balogun Basia wrote, “Please, join me in congratulating my friend K1 and the entire family on the appointment of my daughter Barrister Basirat Damilola Marshall as the SSA to the governor of Lagos State on Tourism. Damilola, this shall be the beginning of many good things that will come your way and that of your siblings Insha Allah, Alaumoh Amin.”
Damilola was a principal partner in Damilola Ayinde Marshal and Co. until her appointment.
Messages addressed to Gboyega Akosile, the Lagos State Governor’s Special Advisor for Media and Publicity, were not returned as of the time this article was published, making attempts to validate the information futile.
