Former best friends Ahmed Ololade, also known as Asake, and Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, better known as Oxlade, are Nigerian singers who have recently sparked reports of a falling out.
Prior to their separation, the two could be seen in multiple videos that are accessible on the internet. They can be seen freestyling in videos. Videos of the two artists meeting in Berlin, Germany, when they were ecstatic to be in each other’s company, are also accessible.
In a recent Rolling Stone interview, Oxlade revealed that he and Asake used to roll together “back then” and that Asake was among the first people to offer feedback on his song, which would go on to become a global hit.
During that interview, Oxlade stated:
“Back then, myself and Asake used to really roll together. He was like “Yo, the song is going to go crazy. It’s going to go crazy.” I was like, “Ehh, every song, everybody says it’s going to go crazy.”Many people responded to the comment by pointing out that the two have grown apart and that they weren’t incorrect.
Finally admitting that he and Asake are no longer best friends, Oxlade made this revelation in a recent interview with Afrobeats Intelligence.
According to Oxlade:
“ Asake used to be my best friend, but…y’know. He’s still my brother o, but…the game is the game.”
