VeryDarkMan’s detention is unknown to us; FCT police break their silence in the face of protest

In contrast to previous assertions, Abuja police have strongly denied any role in the arrest of Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, a well-known social media activist who takes a critical attitude.

Lately, rumors have been making the rounds on social media about VeryDarkMan being taken into custody by Abuja police.

In a widely shared video, VeryDarkMan’s attorney said that the social media critic’s detention came about as a result of a previous petition that musician Samklef, actress Iyabo Ojo, and actress Tonto Dikeh had filed.

According to him, these people sent petitions to several law enforcement organizations in Abuja, and as a result, the activist was called in.

Additionally, a group of young people organized and led public demonstrations on Tuesday to call for the release of VeryDarkMan.

In response, the FCT police agency said that they were “unaware of VeryDarkMan’s arrest” in a recent interview with TheCable Lifestyle, according to spokesman Josephine Adeh.

She said…

“FCT police command is not responsible or aware of any of such person’s arrest,”

In addition to being noticeably quiet over the last four days, the activist is rather active on Instagram.

The nightlife promoter Cubana Chief Priest expressed his support for VeryDarkMan by stating that his detention “signifies a process every activist must go through”.

As an activist, you must pass through this kind of process @verydarkblackman enjoy the process bro, the end justifies the means. This is what you have always wanted, always ready to prove a point regardless. the only man I know that comfortably rejects money,” he wrote on Instagram.

“It’s well, No pain no gain. One thing is for sure darkness can never overcome light. See you at the top soon Legendary. All of us great people have passed through this very process. Stand strong brother man police is our friend.”
