The well-known Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, better known by her stage as Simi, has revealed the key to her career success.
The accomplished mother of one acknowledged the sacrifices made by the trailblazing female artists who came before her and expressed gratitude for their contributions to her own achievement.
Simi emphasized the women’s work ethic in breaking down barriers and defying expectations in the male-dominated music industry.
Simi gave gratitude to the powerful women who shaped her career during her interview with African Folder, saying, “There are women who have worked hard to damn the status quo.”
Simi acknowledged the impact of her forebears but underlined that these strong women’s foundational work is equally responsible for her achievement.
“So, I won’t give myself much credit than for because I also benefitted from other women who came before me” she added.
