Today is Mikel John Obi’s 37th birthday, which the veteran Chelsea midfielder has celebrated with the team.
The West Londoners have referred to Obi, who enjoyed an amazing 11-year career at Stamford Bridge, as “a true Chelsea legend.”
Having spent more than ten years with the team, from 2006 to 2017, Chelsea wished Obi well in a post on X. “Happy birthday, Mikel John Obi!

Despite not having as many goals in his career, the defensive midfielder from Nigeria has won multiple trophies.
He was the winner of one Community Shield, four FA Cups, two Football League Cups, and two Premier League crowns.
Obi was also a member of the illustrious Chelsea team that captured the renowned 2012 UEFA Champions League title—the first-ever for the organization.
The next season, he qualified for and won the Europa League, crowning one of the greatest football careers ever for a Nigerian player.
