Correctional service guarantees Bobrisky’s safety in the male penitentiary

Throughout his six-month incarceration, Mr. Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, would be safe in the male portion of the prison, according to officials from the Nigerian Correctional Service.

The ruling was made after Bobrisky entered a guilty plea to four counts of naira abuse and was sentenced to prison by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court.

Bobrisky made his gender identity clear in court, stating that he identifies as a man.

However, Bobrisky was given the assurance by prison officials that sufficient precautions would be taken to shield him from any potential sexual assault by other prisoners.

They reassured him, saying, “He shouldn’t be afraid of sexual assault by other male inmates because our men can give him protection.”
