The well-known artist David Adeleke, best known by his stage name Davido, has declared himself the world champion of the Afrobeats genre.
The DMW CEO interrupted a recent interview with Billboard’s Nadine Graham to declare that he was the “king” of American Afrobeats and that he was leading “everywhere.”
As the pioneer of Afrobeats worldwide, Davido said he wants his listeners to anticipate “just good music.” It’s weird that my music have been heard by prisoners.
The musician claims that he is now working on two albums: one geared toward African listeners and the other toward American listeners.
Davido also disclosed that “2 AM,” a joint project he co-wrote with Casanova and Tory Lanez, is his favorite since it so skillfully combines elements of Nigerian, Canadian, and American culture.
