Popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele sobs uncontrollably in a new video after being charged with abandoning late actress Aderounmi Adejumoke.
Notably, actress Adejumoke—best known for her portrayal as “Esther” in the popular series Jenifa’s Diary—has been in mourning among fans and celebrities.
She passed away on April 6, 2024. Before her death, she was not seen on screen for a considerable amount of time.
Actress Funke Akindele has joined the list of famous Nigerians who have lamented the passing of Aderounmu Adejumoke on social media.
Funke Akindele is criticized by Aderounmu Adeola, the late actress Adejumoke’s brother, who calls her a nasty and hypocrite.
He revealed that Funke Akindele was phoned by his late sister, actress Aderounmu Adejumo, but she never answered.
Funke Akindele, however, claims in an Instagram live session with her fans that she was unaware Aderounmu Adejumoke was ill, revealing that it had been a while since she had last seen Adejumoke and that she had even asked her close friend, actor Jide Awobona, about Adejumoke.
Funke Akindele continued in the video to say that she had been melancholy for some time due to the loss of both her mother and her marriage.
In the video, Funke Akindele sobs after reading a comment from a netizen expressing that she would bury her twins following the actress Adejumoke Aderounmu’s passing.
Funke Akindele is devastated by the comment, stating that she is going through a difficult period of her own and that she would have been able to help if she had known more about the late Adejumoke before her death.
The actress went on to say that she had written to the bereaved brother of late actress Adejumoke, informing him that she had not heard from him in a while regarding his sister, but he had not responded.
She said,
“I was depressed, I lost my marriage, and my mother.” Stop saying I’ll bvry my own Children. Even I have my trying moments too.”
