Narrative
After their parents pass away, Lee takes in Imogen and Maeve, her nieces, and nurtures them in a secluded cottage while a deadly epidemic rages outside.
The sisters are brought up to never leave the woods, to shun all contact with outsiders, and to depend solely on Lee as their only means of communication with the outside world for more than ten years.
Lee had persuaded the girls that this is essential to surviving in the violent and contagious world of today. However, Lee’s total control starts to crumble when Imogen and Maeve find an injured man in the neighboring woods, and everything they’ve ever known starts to fall apart.
