Junior Pope: Three additional bodies are found by police in the Anambra boat tragedy

According to the Anambra State Police Command, the three victims who were still missing from the recent boat accident that killed Nollywood actor John Pope Odowodo have been located.

Remember that on Wednesday, seven people were rescued from a boat accident that claimed the lives of two, and it was thought that the actors, who were en route to a filming location, had perished.

Three people were reported missing after the incident.

Two of the bodies were recovered on Thursday, and the final one washed ashore by the tide on Friday morning, according to a statement released on Friday by Tochukwu Ikenga, the state police public relations officer.

Additionally, he mentioned that the state’s commissioner of police, Aderemi Adeoye, has advised commuters to use caution when crossing the rivers.

Two of the bodies were recovered yesterday 11th April, 2024 while the last was washed in by the tide this morning,” Ikenga said in a statement.

“All of the bodies have been deposited in the Asaba hospital mortuary, and the president of the Actors and Actresses Guild has been notified of the recovery.”

All water commuters have been urged to exercise caution and abstain from actions that could jeopardize their own or others’ safety while on the water by Commissioner of Police CP Aderemi Adeoye.

He pledged to look into the unfortunate event that claimed the lives of five performers as quickly as possible. He also complimented the commander and marine unit of the command for their dedication to duty.
