Singer Bella Shmurda states, “Artists should respect Afrobeats; this is our genre, we can’t downgrade it.”

Nigerian rapper Bella Shmurda has stressed that rather than demolishing the afrobeat genre, performers should respect it.

The musician expressed disappointment over remarks made recently disparaging the afrobeat genre by artists like Burna Boy and Wizkid.

In order to avoid creating enemies in the sector, he refrained from making any comments on it.

Regardless of how successful their individual careers are, Bella thinks that musicians should appreciate the genre and not denigrate it because it is theirs.
